Zechariah Speaks

So here we are, trusting and believing God to do what he said. The baby has arrived, and visitors are welcome, but as usual, everyone has an opinion. 

What will you name the baby? As they excitedly await a response to this question. Elizabeth tells them his name will be “John.” Ignoring her as if she is delusional from childbirth they turn to Zechariah. Using gestures to ask what he wanted to name him.  He motioned for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s surprise, he wrote, “His name is John.”

  Sometimes our voice may be too small when we speak on what God has told us, and it takes a little backup. If they didn’t get it the first time it was said, they will get it sooner or later. God will always be our backup. Continue to be Bold & Courageous. Don’t let anyone change your mind when God has given you the vision, and don’t get mad when people question it. God didn’t tell them, He told you. Now sit back and watch God show them. 

Ok, back to the story…

The whole neighborhood was in awe. It was at this moment they knew the hand of God was truly blessing the family.

Then Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to prophecy praising God. “And you, my little son, will be called the prophet of the Most High because you will prepare the way for the Lord. You will tell his people how to find salvation through forgiveness of their sins. Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” (Luke 1:76-79)
